But there’s a BIG difference between knowing and doing with the best Tulsa Personal Trainer…
The magic is rarely in knowing anything. It’s in the application of knowledge.
Knowledge has some power… applied knowledge has life-changing power.
So, if you find yourself saying, “I know”, stop yourself, take a deep breath,
and ask yourself, “Do I really want to become the best version of myself?”
Hopefully that’s a YES with your Tulsa Personal Trainer!
Then stop procrastinating or over analyzing, and start focusing on DOING IT!

Know your “why”, emailing from Big Cedar, balance
Hope you’re having a great weekend and relaxing some!
As I’m sending this here Sunday morning, I’m sitting on the outside patio at Truman Cafe
and Coffee Shop overlooking TableRock Lake and it’s absolutely gorgeous! I brought
my family here to Big Cedar this weekend and I highly recommend it- we’ve had a blast
here this weekend!
This ties into my quick email this morning!
I want to ask you an important question. What is your why?
What is most important to you in life? I think sometimes it’s easy to forget or just
not think enough about it.
For me it’s summed up into something I call CORE4 (Body, Being, Balance, Business)
Or also defined as Fitness, Faith, Family, Finance, and having true balance and priority
for all of these areas for te top Tulsa Personal Trainer.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I’m a workaholic and I love what I do for a living
and helping change lives through health & fitness, so it’s easy for me to just work all
day everyday, non-stop. But I’m also committed to my family and other areas of life
and it’s always a challenge for me to create balance in all areas.
I could have easily whipped out my laptop this weekend and reading/study material
and worked the entire time we’re here. But I didn’t- this morning is the first time. And
it’s been so worth it. We’ve made some great memories this weekend as a family that
we’ll all remember forever that you need a Tulsa Personal Trainer.
So the quick lesson I’m getting to is- know your “why” in life and to “be present”.
Aka- when you’re with your family or friends put down the cell phone or whatever other
distractions you may have and focus on those you’re with. Once upon a time I was the
idiot who couldn’t stay off my phone thinking I was missing out on something business
related, or just couldn’t take my mind off of work all together.
The daily actions I now use of CORE4 and knowing my why has helped change that.
I hope you’re doing something similar! Enjoy life, take care of your health, take care of
your family…. let’s live long, love others, and laugh often!
I’m off to get a quick workout, then find the girls here at the lodge and enjoy the rest of
the day together before we head back home this evening!
Have a great rest of the weekend!

5 Secrets of Olympic Athletes
The Olympics are here and I love following the stories, showing support for our
country, and watching the best athletes in the world perform at the highest level!
And there’s no doubt that people will be talking about the fittest Olympic bodies and
how they get them and how Olympians train and workout with the best Tulsa Personal Trainer!
While Olympic competitors are the best in the world, there are several “secrets” of
Olympic athletes that can boost any fitness program, including yours:)
5 Tips for training like a world-class athlete
1. Balanced diet and hydration-
For Olympic-level performance and off-the-chart energy, you must eat properly including
eating a balanced breakfast of complex carbohydrates and lean protein, then eat again
every 3-4 hours and within 90 minutes of working out. Consume half your bodyweight
in fluid ounces of water and if exercising intensely or for long duration more than an
hour (especially in this heat right now!) consume a sports-drink with electrolytes such as
Powerade Zero.
2. Proper sleep is essential- (this is the one I personally don’t do well at:)
High-level athletes that are training hard need 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Focus on
quality of sleep for optimal hormonal release with your Tulsa Personal Trainer.
3. Hire a coach-
Great athletes have coaches. People that want significant changes need help with
game-planning, motivation, technique, and accountability and a certified professional
can dramatically help increase results.
4. Use dynamic exercises and strength train-
Instead of only using fixed-pieces of equipment (machines), use things such as medicine
balls, stability balls, resistance bands, battle ropes, sleds, and free weights and integrate
diagonal and rotational movements as well as unilateral exercises working the body in all
3 planes of motion. Run. Jump. Throw. In addition to getting stronger and leaner, quicker,
and more powerful, lifting will maximize hormonal response. Strong muscles burn more
calories, help prevent injuries, and build stronger bones.
5. Train with a partner or in a group-
Olympic athletes are known to train together for years before they turn to competing
against each other at the big event. Accountability is a big part of success and when
you train with a friend, spouse, or in a group (such as how we do at Tulsa Fitness
Systems), your adherence to exercise goes up. And helps pick up the intensity and
brings out friendly competition with the top Tulsa Personal Trainer.
I remember reading a story about Dana Torres in the 2008 Olympics… she had a head
coach, a sprint coach, a strength coach, two stretchers, two masseuses, a chiropractor,
and a nanny. This was the team she set up to help her succeed.
Having support and accountability is one of the well-known secrets to success.
The legendary Andrew Carnegie once said, “Take away my railroads, take away my
factories, take away all my money, but leave me my people and I’ll have it all back and
more in six months.” Surround yourself with people who will support you and assist and
help you when it comes to achieving your goals.
Put these 5 tips to use, and if you need help with anything or would like to discuss
the possibility of us working together just reply back and let me know.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Olympics if you’re watching them!

Give yourself credit
One of the biggest issues I see with people today is there inability to give themselves credit
for how far they’ve come and what they’ve accomplished.
Think about how many times you accomplish something and move on right away to the next
thing without even celebrating what you just did.
