And instead of chips, use fresh veggies to dip for even more healthy options.

Tips to help prevent Heart Disease
Hope you had a great Valentine’s weekend!
Mine was awesome- went to both my little girls Valentine’s parties at their schools on
Friday which was a blast! Date night with my queen at one of our favorite restaurants
(yes we ate healthy as usual:) and overall had a great weekend for your Tulsa Personal Trainer!
No doubt most people associate February with Valentine’s Day, love, chocolate, roses.
And those are all great but I want to also associate February with another type of love-
the love of your own heart and health to get the best Tulsa Personal Trainer.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for adults in the U.S. and stroke is fifth. If
you have higher levels of stress and bad eating habits (don’t most people) you’re more
likely to have high BP, high cholesterol, and thus leading to heart attack and stroke.
Many people die from their first heart attack and 1 in 4 will die within the first year
following a heart attack. Startling and scary numbers.
Heart disease and stroke are often preventable, including high blood pressure, high
cholesterol and obesity. If you control these three risks you can reduce your risk for
heart attack or stroke by more than 80%.
Prevention is key. Here are tips to help you prevent heart disease and be healthy:
1. Processed foods generally contain too much sodium and sugar- cut them out.
Eating natural foods higher in vitamins and minerals are essential for a healthy heart.
2. Maintain a healthy weight: Obesity is due to unhealthy eating and a lack of physical
exercise/working out. Maintaining a healthy weight helps keep your heart significantly healthier with the top Tulsa Personal Trainer.
3. Exercise/working out: Along with eating well and maintaining your weight, you must
exercise. Physical activity is a key ingredient to a healthy lifestyle.
4. Don’t Smoke: If you don’t smoke, don’t start. If you do, please stop! We know how
bad smoking is for you, and also those around you. If you smoke- stop!
5. Drink in Moderation: You don’t necessarily have to stop, but moderation is key to a
healthy heart for your Tulsa Personal Trainer.
There are so many benefits to working out and eating healthier that go way beyond just
looking better. Quality of life and longevity of life are things you need to be thinking about
and working on, now!
If you’d like some help or have any specific questions regarding your health & fitness,

Don’t wait until it’s too late, find your “why”
“Find Your Why”
This is a phrase I often tell people when we’re talking about accountability, staying motivated, keeping on track of your fitness program…
I got news this week that an old high school classmate and friend had passed away.
He died of a heart attack.
He was unhealthy, overweight, and didn’t take care of himself. And unfortunately he’s now dead of a heart attack while still in his 30’s. So terrible.
I often talk about health benefits such as fat loss, looking better in your swimsuit, getting lean and tone, etc. All those are great- but there are so many important benefits to working out and being healthy and having an overall better quality of life and a longer life.
Heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other sicknesses and diseases are very much lifestyle related and there are things you can do to stay healthy.
Take ownership and responsibility for your body and your health. Eat healthy, workout regularly, weaponize and bulletproof your body.
If you don’t take care of your own self, or if you’re not here, you can’t take care of anyone else.
“Find Your WHY. Do The Work. Make it a priority and don’t ever give up or stop.”
You’re worth it. Your family and those close to you are worth it.
If you feel you’re at a point in your life where you need more help, or if you have questions on anything regarding your own personal health & fitness- reply back to this email and let me know. I’d love to help.
Have a great weekend and live inspired,

One of the most misunderstood things about nutrition and what to eat
Hope you had a great spring break if you did anything fun… or atleast watched some March Madness basketball!
Instead of partying at the beach like back in my college days- I was out of town for business mastermind meetings. I love coaching, learning, and strategizing on ways to continue improving and helping our clients get the best results and change lives!
One thing I enjoy when I travel is the chance to catch up on reading and listening to podcasts at airports and on planes.
Last week I listened to a really good podcast on the benefits of eating healthy fats.
I’m still surprised by how many people I talk to still think low-fat means good and that you should avoid fats in your diet.
So let me break this down….
We need adequate fat in our diet to support metabolism, cell and tissue function, immunity, hormone production, and the absorption of many nutrients. Fats help reduce inflammation, improve brain and eye function, and keep us satisfied.
So yes, you need to eat fat to be healthy! But not all bacon and ice cream:)
