I was raised old-school where whenever I got hurt as a kid my dad said to rub dirt on it and it’ll be fine and not to expect sympathy! Lol
But the point being that we all need to be focusing on being healthy and injury-free (including always showing up on time for our warm-ups at the workouts (we wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t important), foam rolling regularly, regular massages (deep-tissue sport massage that is!) and always letting me know if you’ve got something bothering you, hurting, etc. We’re here to help and will always modify, correct something, etc as needed with the best Tulsa Personal Trainer.
All the training staff here at TFS as well as myself are all currently studying and preparing for the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) training certification which digs deep into corrective exercise and injury prevention. We’re also beginning to do FMS (Functional Movement Screens) to help determine muscle imbalances and limiting movement patterns which could be causing pain or cause pain in the future. Lots more info coming on all this but wanted to give you a heads up on some things we’re working on, along with several other things coming this fall- including advanced performance testing/athlete combine I’m working on and very excited about!
New workouts this month are pretty killer and getting lots of great feedback so lets continue hitting it hard as we’ll be doing assessments/measurements again within the next couple weeks for a Tulsa Personal Trainer!

Simple Nutrition to Perform at Your Best
I sent out an email to you a few weeks ago about golf performance nutrition hopefully you’re implementing some of the tips I included- one of which was about drinking water and hydration. Today I want to dig a litter deeper on this topic since there’s lots of research on this and it’s very relevant right now as we’re in the hot September dog days of summer.
So does being thirsty or dehydrated really affect your game?
A recent study sought out to determine whether mild dehydration impairs neurophysiological function while playing golf. Meaning does it affect your nervous system which could directly affect your golf game performance.
This study included low-handicap players who each completed golf-specific motor and cognitive performance tasks hitting 30 golf balls at designated targets. Their golf-cognitive ability was assessed by using distance judgment. Each participant was randomly shown 30 golf location images and asked to estimate the distance to the position.
These trials were first performed in a hydrated condition. Seven days later, the subjects performed the same tasks after they had been restricted from fluids for 12 hours, and in a dehydrated state to get the top Tulsa Personal Trainer.
The results showed that mild dehydration significantly impaired motor performance (which was measured via shot distance and off-target accuracy). Cognitive performance, which was measured through judgment, was also significantly impaired when dehydrated.
These results are consistent with previous research showing similar results that mild dehydration can impair distance, accuracy, and distance judgment during golf performance. This reiterates the importance of staying hydrated from a performance standpoint, not only while playing a sport such as golf, but in other sports as well.
So always be sure to have plenty of water around and stay hydrated! it really is important if you want to perform at your best… no matter what sport or activity you’re doing!

Hope you’re having an awesome day and week and loving this cool, crisp fall weather!
I loved the weather in San Diego last week but gotta say I do love this weather here in Oklahoma this time of year!

Clint’s Coaching Tips
In honor of the new year, I want to share a couple “Coach’s Tips” to help set us all up for success for this year-
Become your biggest Champion!
Shut down any negative voices of self-doubt in your head. Don’t criticize your body, your talent, your skill, or yourself. Every time you judge yourself negatively, replace the thought with something you love about yourself. Are you fit, healthy, funny, witty, driven, committed, friendly and caring, trustworthy, loyal, etc? Every time you judge your body negatively, replace the thought with how fitness makes you feel, and then remind yourself of your fitness goals and stay driven to achieving them! Make yourself feel empowered, strong, and stay inspired… own that with your Tulsa Personal Trainer!
Shut down gossip. A healthy heart and mindset contribute to a healthy body. If you criticize, judge, or are jealous of others, you’re wasting your time living someone else’s life. I always try to find the best in every person I meet and get to know. Choose to live your own life controlling what you are in control of and choose to live happy! Don’t ever let anyone bring you down and always
have a positive MINDSET!
