3 Quick & Easy Healthy Snacks that your Tulsa Personal Trainer will approve of!
Hope you’re having an awesome day and a great week! The weekend is almost here!

Here are 3 of my favorite, quick & easy to make snacks. They all have the optimal combination of fiber, protein, and fat to keep your fat storage hormone (insulin) under control while optimizing your fat burning hormones at the same time.

1. Apple & natural almond or peanut butter.
This is a great anytime snack that travels easy and makes a good pre-workout snack also. The overall calories are low and this fills you up without slowing you down. You could also substitute a handful of almonds instead of nut butter.

2. Turkey Jerky & handful of grapes
I actually just had this one a few minutes ago while sitting here working at my office desk. You could use other fruit besides grapes as well.

3. Protein bar or protein shake
There are many flavors and brands (some good and many are total junk). I love the UMP Ultimate Protein we’re selling now at TFS and the new Quest & Power Crunch bars. If you haven’t tried these and are looking for a good protein shake or bar you gotta check em’ out- they’re the bomb!

Alright, I gotta get back to work here so have a great rest of the day and see ya soon!

Nutrition Tips For Golfers
I also wanted to share this article with you below that I wrote about nutrition since we’re in the season with lots of golf being played. Nutrition is so important to overall health, fitness, and performance with a Tulsa Personal Trainer.

“The Best Stuff to Eat & Drink During a Round”

1. Cool water. Prevents dehydration. When you’re dehydrated you lose mental focus as well as strength, and your heart rate can accelerate. None of these are good for your golf game!

2. Nuts- walnuts, almonds, and pecans all contain healthy protein and fat and help provide energy. Lightly salted can also help prevent cramping on hot days when you’re sweating a lot.
3. Raw fruit. Apples, oranges, berries, and other fruit supply a boost of energy and nutrients and also help keep your muscles functioning properly and can help control mood swings.

4. Natural beef or turkey jerky. Provides a good source of lean protein to keep you going at peak levels and helps build lean muscle.

5. Peanut Butter. Great source of protein and healthy fats which helps supply energy, build lean muscle, and improve brain function. And who doesn’t love some peanut butter!

Always let me know with questions about anything and we’ll finalize the details on starting back up our high school golf fitness & performance program and keep you posted over the next few weeks.

I’m planning to go to WGC Bridgestone next week to work with Bo and some of our other tour players so should be a good experience and I’ll keep you posted on everything for a Tulsa Personal Trainer.

Talk to you soon!

Booty Camp
Most folks are familiar with the gluteus maximus muscle aka “your booty!”

Did you know the gluteus maximus is generally referred to as the biggest muscle in the human body! You may, or may not want this but It is in fact the most massive muscle of the human body! Ladies… don’t take this as a bad thing! You can still get it tighter, stronger, lifted, and more firm without making it bigger!!

The glutes aka “your butt” are a group of three muscles which control hip extension and lateral rotation and help control your posture. They help you squat, walk, lunge, balance, create power and speed in sport-specific movements… and of course look attractive when developed properly!

So enough of the science and anatomy lesson- I was on FOX23 Great Day Green Country
last week sharing my BOOTY CAMP “Bikini Booty Solution” workout plan. We had a blast
on this segment so be sure and give it a try!

Staying Healthy
Some of you that saw me hobbling around yesterday might have heard me mention I strained some muscles in my lower back on Monday night (doing the demo portion of the workout in the 7:00pm session). I’d been training non-stop since 1:00pm my high school athletes, golfers, and the evening sessions and probably was just tired and not paying attention and compromised my form. It’s better now and nothing serious but did put me down for a couple days!

My point in mentioning this is not to get any sympathy.
